For our Graduating Eekers..

Something just for you, as you set out on your new life. :)

Memory
Andrew Lloyd Weber

Daylight
See the dew on the sunflower
And a rose that is fading
Roses whither away
Like the sunflower
I yearn to turn my face to the dawn
I am waiting for the day . . .

Midnight
Not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory?
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight
The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan

Memory
All alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
I was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Every streetlamp
Seems to beat a fatalistic warning
Someone mutters
And the streetlamp gutters
And soon it will be morning

Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I musn't give in
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin

Burnt out ends of smoky days
The stale cold smell of morning
The streetlamp dies, another night is over
Another day is dawning

Touch me
It's so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun
If you touch me
You'll understand what happiness is

Look,
A new day has begun!

Memories..

Yes folks.. another fun- and memory-filled year has gone by.. and here's the entire year in pictures.. in no particular order because Blogger screwed up the ordering and I have no clue how to move pictures around..

Buaya Week! Complete with our own scarecrow. Who scared the heck out of a certain E____r T_n, causing her to scream so loud that the RF had to go up to scold everyone.. Here the level 5 girls kidnapped the scarecrow and turned it into a woman.. She hung there for some months until her balloon head shrank to the size of a golf ball.

Fast forward one semester (thanks to Blogger) to Semester 2 Inter-Year Captain's Ball cum good luck supper! Once again Block E showed itself to have the best block comm, with the best cooks (Clarice + Rachel). Even the RF chipped in something.. might have caused some diahorrhea, but who cares ya? :)

Time-warp back to Buaya Week again! And the famous paper cranes put up by a certain uber-talented level 2 resident. These cranes were also featured in BEP, with Zaihao shamelessly taking credit for them to impress Esther.. :p

Time warp forward 1 semester (I hate blogger), where Eekers showed that they had a heart by showing up at the VC Chinese New Year lunch for the elderly, kindly sponsored by the Holiday Inn Parkview. Lest anyone thought that our Eekers were there just to stuff their faces, let it be known that they served the elderly and ensured that everyone was well fed with at least one pau and one siew mai.

And then they stuffed their faces.

Behold the Small Nic the Buay King, and Big Chris, the Buaya Queen! Does our BQ look annoyed? Hmmm.. why ah?

Junior Treat Senior, in Semester 1! Our valiant juniors put together a truly scrumptious treat for all of us.. and we discovered Jon and Weiling, our hidden cooking talents! :D They're teaming up with Terence to start a new restaurant somewhere in Sungei Road.

Block E Honor Game! An excuse to get really dirty and disgusting..

And of course all blocks must have their scandals.. woot! This is why you should never drink too much. You might regret it the next morning. :p

Lantern Festival! The Block RF waited for over an hour for this to start.. then went to sleep. Seeing the Block RF turn off his bedroom light, our gallant Eekers set out to burn lanterns..

Chinese New Year celebration! We Eekers discovered that a certain German exchange student called Gunnar was in reality.. CHINESE! Dang, he tricked us for a whole year!

Combined Block E and B supper! Yet another excuse to eat and play lotsa silly games.. wahaha.. if it's obscene, silly, (insert negative adjective here), it's by Block E. :)

D&D!!! Our Big Head girls went as Shrek, our guys went as.. Block E guys.. while the level 5 girls were from Alice in Wonderland! Wahaha.. and of course Block E was represented by the lovely Keith and Hyeli!

One of the judges said that Block E had the best looking couple.. no kidding! Too bad we were robbed of the crown. :(

Block E Production! Wahaha, what a night of fun and laughter.. the l___r Z__h_o gets dumped by Esther because he got taken advantage of.. haha. See? Told you not to drink so much.

As you can see from the first picture, the Block RF hasn't quite gotten the Eeker sign done right yet.

Senior Farewell! Our junior- and senior-cooks put together a daring and scrumptious smorgasbord of delights that kept us well fed, while the rest put together a sometimes touching, often hilarious performance. What a perfect send-off for our graduating (I was going to say departing.. but a bit suay) seniors!

And now we jump backwards again in time, once again thanks to "wonderful" Blogger, to the first major block event after orientation! Inter-block games! Predictably, as we've been for the past several years, Block E emerged as IBG champions! We can see the weight of victory on our dear Block Head as he lies buried in a pile of medals. You go Eekers!

SNDCC saw our usually t-shirt/shorts or t-shirt/boxer-shorts or towel-clad Eekers dressed to their nines for the first time in the year! Treasure these moments. It's rare to actually see Eekers decently dressed. Hahaha. And don't Qijun and Clarice make such a beautiful couple?

And lets not forget the birthdays! Eekers got more creative with Zhichao, transferring the contents of his room to the rooftop. Zhichao's first words, upon entering HIS room, was allegedly "This is not my room!" Ah, the power of self-delusion. But alas for Zhichao, he was in his room. Just that his room wasn't in his room. Wahaha.

Block Head's birthday was bordering on obscene.. breaking with the Eeker tradition of t-shirt/shorts or t-shirt/underwear or underwear or towel, our Block Head donned just a photocopy box held up by red ribbons. Sorry folks, but it's just too funny to post the pictures here! :D

Good luck supper, Sem 1 06/07, was done in style by our beloved Block Comm! Instead of beehoon and eggs, we had pizza, mashed potatoes and roast chicken.. all served by the Block Comm! Despite strict instructions from the RF that the Block Comm must eat as well.. they were left just with crumbs after every Eeker ravenously devoured their wonderful concoctions!

And finally (though not in chronological order - Curse blogger!), Chinese New Year formal dinner, the second time Eekers put on something other than t-shirt/shorts, t-shirt/underwear, underwear, or just simply a towel.

Yes folks, it's been an amazing year here at the Eeker home, with many many more events not covered by this short article, due to the invertebrate laziness of this reporter. Best of luck in all of your endeavours, and remember, regardless of where you are..

ONCE AN EEKER, ALWAYS AN EEKER!
